In partnership with Lancashire County Council, the East Lancs Befriending Service supports local residents over the age of 18 to combat isolation and loneliness.
The befriending service is a fantastic opportunity for both parties, with volunteers often finding the experience as rewarding as the people they visit.
I now have a reason to get out of bed in the morning. I feel like I am helping people in my local community and I enjoy being useful. Befriending Volunteer
Volunteers are trained and equipped to offer short and medium term support. Whether it is a weekly chat over a cup of coffee, a regular telephone call or one of our group befriending sessions, a wide variety of needs are met.
